§ 61.25. Purpose.

(a)This part is composed of several subparts, each containing its own purpose. This subpart implements policy, assigns responsibilities, and provides procedures for addressing child abuse and domestic abuse in military communities.
(b)Restricted reporting guidelines are provided in DoD Instruction 6400.06, "Domestic Abuse Involving DoD Military and Certain Affiliated Personnel" (available at http://www.dtic.mil/whs/directives/corres/pdf/640006p.pdf). This subpart prescribes guidelines for Family Advocacy Program
(FAP)assessment, clinical rehabilitative treatment, and ongoing monitoring of individuals who have been reported to FAP by means of an unrestricted report for domestic abuse against:
(1)Current or former spouses, or
(2)Intimate partners.
