§ 556.150. Chlortetracycline.

(a)Acceptable daily intake (ADI). The ADI for total residue of tetracyclines including chlortetracycline, oxytetracycline, and tetracycline is 25 µg/kg of body weight per day.
(b)Tolerances. The tolerances for the sum of tetracycline residues are:
(1)Cattle.
(i)Liver: 6 ppm.
(ii)Kidney and fat: 12 ppm.
(iii)Muscle: 2 ppm.
(2)Chickens, turkeys, and ducks.
(i)Liver: 6 ppm.
(ii)Kidney and fat: 12 ppm.
(iii)Muscle: 2 ppm.
(iv)Eggs: 0.4 ppm for chlortetracycline only.
(3)Sheep.
(i)Liver: 6 ppm.
(ii)Kidney and fat: 12 ppm.
(iii)Muscle: 2 ppm.
(4)Swine.
(i)Liver: 6 ppm.
(ii)Kidney and fat: 12 ppm.
(iii)Muscle: 2 ppm.
