§ 702.347. Formal hearings; termination.

(a)Formal hearings are normally terminated upon the conclusion of the proceeding at which evidence is submitted to the administrative law judge.
(b)In exceptional cases the Chief Administrative Law Judge or the administrative law judge assigned to the case may, in his or her discretion, extend the time for official termination of the hearing. [42 FR 42552, Aug. 23, 1977]
