Sec. 164.001. PURPOSE AND POLICY.
(a)The legislature declares that it is the policy of the state to provide financial assistance to veterans of the state in recognition of their service to this state and the United States and to honor veterans with a final resting place and with lasting memorials that commemorate their service.
(b)The legislature declares that existing mechanisms for implementing the policy stated in Subsection
(a)of this section may be enhanced by adoption of this chapter and implementation of the financial assistance programs authorized by this chapter.
(c)The legislature finds that this chapter and the financial assistance programs authorized by this chapter are in furtherance of a public purpose.
