Chap. XXII.— An Act for the Relief of Marcus Fulton Johnson. Jan. 19, 1849. *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled*, A preemption allowed M. F. Johnson to a certain tract of land in Louisiana on certain conditions. That whenever the Commissioner of the General Land Office shall be satisfied that the inhabitants of township number eighteen, of range thirteen east, in the Ouachita land district, have abandoned or relinquished their claim to lot or fractional section number thirty-three, in said township, as a selection for school purposes, then and thenceforth the said lot of land last named shall be open to the preemption claim and location of the said Marcus Fulton Johnson, upon proper proof being made, as is required by existing laws.
