Chap. XXI.— An Act for the Relief of James T. Shackleford. June 17, 1850. *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled*, Title confirmed in a specified tract of land, and patent to be issued therefor to J. T. Shackleford. That James T. Shackleford, of the State of Alabama, be, and he is hereby, confirmed in the following described tract of land, to wit: the south-east quarter of section number sixteen, in township numbered seventeen, in range numbered one west, in the district of lands subject to entry at the land office at Demopolis, in the said State of Alabama, and that the commissioner of the general land office, upon the passage of this act, shall Proviso.issue a patent for the same: *Provided*, The said commissioner shall be first satisfied that the said James T.
Shackleford has purchased the interest in the said tract of land of the person who originally entered the Further proviso.same: *And provided, further*, That the said patent shall operate only as a relinquishment on the part of the United States of all right and title to the said land.
