Chap. CXXXVI.— An Act for the Relief of P. Chouteau, Junior, and Company. March 3, 1849. *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled*, P. Chouteau, Jr. & Co., to be paid $9600 out of the fund created for the benefit of the Shawnee Indians. That the Secretary of War be authorized to pay P. Chouteau, Junior, and Company, the sum of nine thousand six hundred dollars, out of any moneys in the treasury not otherwise appropriated; and that the amount, when paid, be charged to the fund, under the control of government, created for the benefit of the Shawnee Indians, by the seventh article of the treaty of the eighth of August, eighteen hundred and thirty-one.
