Chap. CXLVII.— An Act for the Relief of Richard Hargreave Lee. Aug. 8, 1846. *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled*, Secretary of Treasury authorized to refund to R. H. Lee $160, paid by him through mistake. That the Secretary of the Treasury be authorized to pay to Richard Ilargreave Lee, of Buffalo, in the State of New York, one hundred and sixty dollars, or so much thereof as shall satisfactorily appear to said secretary to be the moiety of the penalty of four hundred dollars paid by said Lee, by mistake, for a breach of the revenue laws committed by him on the thirtieth of December, one thousand eight hundred and twenty-nine, after deducting from said penalty of four hundred dollars the amount of the true penalty which ought to have been paid by said Lee, according to the provisions of the act of the third of March, one thousand1823, ch. 58. eight hundred and twenty-three.
