Chap. CXCIII.— An Act for the Relief of William B. Stokes. Aug. 14, 1848. *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled*, William B. Stokes to be paid from the revenues of the Post-Office Department $4715 for extra mail service performed by John N. C. Stockton & Co., in 1836. That the Postmaster-General be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to pay from the revenues of the Post-Office Department appropriated for mail transportation, to William B.
Stokes, surviving partner of John N. C. Stockton and Company, the sum of four thousand seven hundred and seventy-five dollars, for extra services performed by said John N. C. Stockton and Company, who were contractors for carrying the mail from Augusta, in the State of Georgia, to Mobile, in Alabama; said services having been rendered during the months of May, June, and July, in the year one thousand eight hundred and thirty-six; and which said sum shall be in full satisfaction of all claims for said extra services, and of all damages occasioned thereby.
