Chap. CI.— An Act *to provide for the more effectual Publication of the Laws of the United States.* Aug. 8, 1846. *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, *§ 21 of the act of 1842, ch. 202, repealed.That the twenty-first section of the act entitled “An Act legalizing and making Appropriations for such necessary Objects as have usually been included in the general Appropriation Bills, without Authority of Law, and to fix and TWENTY-NINTH CONGRESS.
Sess. I. Ch. 102, 103. 1846.77provide for certain incidental Expenses of the Departments and Offices of the Government, and for other Purposes,” approved August twenty-six, eighteen hundred and forty-two, be, and the same is hereby, repealed. Sec. 2. *And be it further enacted,* That so much of the act entitled “An Act to provide for the Publication of the Laws of the United1818, ch. 80. States, and for other Purposes,” approved April twentieth, eighteen hundred and eighteen, as is repealed by the said twenty-first section, be and the same is hereby, revived and continued in force: *Provided, *Laws to be published in two newspapers in each State and Territory.That the Secretary for the Department of State shall cause the publication of such laws, resolutions, treaties, and amendments, in two of the newspapers in the District of Columbia, and in each of the several States and Territories of the United States, and no more.
