Chap. XXXIII.— An Act to provide some present relief to the officers of government and other citizens who have suffered in their property by the insurgents in the western counties of Pennsylvania. Feb. 27, 1795. *Be it enacted, &c., * That the President of the United States be, and Appropriation for the present relief of certain persons.he is hereby authorized to draw out of the treasury of the United States, the sum of eight thousand five hundred dollars, to be applied by him to aid such of the officers of government and other citizens, who have (in consequence of their exertions in support of the laws) sustained losses in their property, by the actual destruction thereof, by the insurgents in the western counties of Pennsylvania, as, in his opinion, stand in need of immediate assistance, to be by them accounted for, in such manner as may hereafter be directed by law.
