Chap. XXVIII.— An Act for the relief of Elisha J. Winter. July 26, 1813. *Be it enacted, &c., * That the proper accounting officers be authorizedCompensation for horses, &c. taken by (U. S. to adjust and liquidate the claim of Elisha J. Winter, of the State of New York, for a pair of horses with a sleigh and harness, taken from him for the use of the army of the United States, in the month of March last, and on due examination to allow him therefor such amount as may appear equitable.
Sec. 2. *And be it further enacted, *That the sum of one hundredAppropriation therefor. and forty-three dollars be, and the same is hereby appropriated, out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, for satisfying the claim of the said Elisha J. Winter. Approved, July 26, 1813.
