Chap. XX.— An Act for the relief of Israel Smith. March 18, 1818. *Be it enacted, &c., * Credit allowed to him. That the proper accounting officers of the war department be, and they are hereby, authorized and empowered to place to the credit of Israel Smith, of the State of Vermont, four hundred dollars, which sum has been paid by the said Smith to a detach- FIFTEENTH CONGRESS. Sess. I. Ch. 25, 27, 28, 31. 1818. 201 ment of the troops of the United States, and, for which payment, the vouchers have been lost, without any fault or negligence on his part. Approved, March 18, 1818.
