Feb. 28, 1820. *Be it enacted, &c., * That the proper accounting officers of the treasuryAccount to be settled. department be, and. they are hereby, authorized and directed to settle the accounts of Thomas Buckminster, deceased, late lieutenant in the thirty-third regiment of the United States’ infantry, upon the Proviso.principles of justice and equity: *Provided, however,* That the sum so to be allowed shall not exceed the amount charged to the account of said deceased, on the books in the office of the third auditor of the treasury department.
