Chap. XVII.— An Act for the relief of the churchwardens of Elizabeth City parish, in the State of Virginia. Feb. 11, 1830. *Be it enacted, &c., * Payment for a bell broken in the service of the U. S. That the Secretary of the Treasury pay, out of any money in the treasury, not otherwise appropriated, the sum of one hundred and thirty dollars, and fifty cents, to the churchwardens of Elizabeth City parish, in the state of Virginia, to defray the expense of recasting a bell, broke during the late war, while used by direction of an officer commanding at that place, as an alarm bell. Approved, February 11, 1830.
