XLVIII.— An Act *for the relief if Jesse Carpenter.* June 27, 1842. *Be it enacted, &c*., That the receiver of public moneys in the land office at Montgomery, Alabama, be, and he is hereby, required to re-fundPurchase money for land to be refunded. to Jesse Carpenter, of Russell county, in said state, the purchase money heretofore paid by Joshua Threadgill, for the west half of the south-east quarter of section thirty-four, in township seventeen, of range twenty-seven, in the district of lands subject to sale at the aforesaid land office: *Provided*, Said Carpenter shall first produce the certificateProviso. of purchase, issued to said Threadgill, together with satisfactory proof that he, the said Carpenter, holds the same by fair, legal, or equitable transfer from said Threadgill; and shall also surrender said certificate to be cancelled.
