Chap. XLVII.— An Act for the relief of Salt us, Son and Company, merchants, of the city of New York. Feb. 22, 1815. *Be it enacted, &c., * Claim to be examined and settled. That the accounting officers of the treasury be, and they are hereby, authorized and required to examine and settle the claim of Saltus, Son and Company, merchants, of the city of New York, and to allow the same deduction, from the duties payable on a quantity of glass imported into the United States, on account of damage sustained during the voyage, as the petitioners would have been entitled to claim, if the survey and measurement of the glass destroyed, during the voyage, had been made with the approbation and consent of the collector of the customs at Newport, where the same was landed.
