Chap. XLVII.— An Act *authorizing the settlement of the accounts of the heirs of Captain Jesse Copeland.*March 2, 1839. *Be it enacted, &c*., That the proper accounting officers be authorizedAccounts to be settled, &c. to adjust and settle, according to the principles of justice and equity, the claims of the heirs of Jesse Copeland, late a captain in the army of the United States; and if any balance shall be found due to said heirs from the United States, the Secretary of the Treasury is hereby authorized to pay the same to them out of any money in the treasury not otherwise appropriated. Approved, March 2, 1839.
