Chap. XII.— An Act *for the relief of Ferdinand Leibert.* January 20, 1843. *Be it enacted, &c*., That the Secretary of the Treasury be, and heClaim for the amount paid as the penalty on a certain debenture bond, to be settled. hereby is, authorized to settle and adjust the claim of Ferdinand Leibert, of the city of New Orleans, liquidating partner of the firm of Fibreman and Leibert, for the amount paid as the penalty on a debenture bond for thirty-three bales of Texas cotton shipped on the seventeenth of April, eighteen hundred and thirty-nine, in the British ship Robert Bruce, in all respects as if the amount paid by him, as penalty for not producing the consular certificate of the lading of the cotton, had not been transferred or paid into the treasury of the United States.
