Chap. XCIV.— An Act for the relief of Abraham Snyder. March 3, 1823. *Be it enacted, &c., * That Abraham Snyder, of Ulster county, in the state of New York, who is imprisoned within the limits of the jail ofEnabled to take the benefit of the act. the said county, on execution issued out of the District Court of the Southern District of New York, at the suit of the United States, shall be entitled to the relief and benefit of the act, entitled “An act for the relief of persons imprisoned for debt,” passed January sixth, oneAct of Jan. 6, 1800, ch. 4. thousand eight hundred, in the same manner, and to the same effect, as if he were imprisoned at the suit of an individual creditor: *Provided,*Proviso.
That the notice required by the said act to be given to the creditor, his agent or attorney, shall be given to the District Attorney of the United States for the Southern District of New York: *And provided, further,*Proviso. That such discharge of the said Abraham Snyder shall not be deemed to affect the right or remedy of the United States against his sureties, or either of them. Approved, March 3, 1823.
