Chap. VIII.— An Act directing the discharge of Oliver Spellman from imprisonment. Jan. 22, 1817. *Be it enacted, &c., * To be discharged from imprisonment.Proviso. That Oliver Spellman, who is now imprisoned in a jail in the State of Rhode Island, on a judgment at the suit of the United States, by which he was sentenced to pay a fine to the United States, be discharged from his imprisonment: *Provided, however,* That any estate which the said Oliver Spellman may have or hereafter acquire, shall be liable to be taken to satisfy the sentence against him in the same manner as if he had not been imprisoned and discharged.
