Chap. VII.— An Act for the relief of John Vaughan. Feb. 11, 1800. *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, * That the accountingAllowance to John Vaughan. officers of the treasury be, and they are hereby, authorized and directed to settle the account of John Vaughan, and to allow him the amount of the difference in his favor, which would result from calculating the silver bullion by him deposited, previous to the month of December, in the year one thousand seven hundred and ninety-five, in the mint of the United States, for coinage, at the rate of one thousand four hundred and eighty-five parts fine to one hundred and seventy-nine parts alloy, instead of the rate of nine parts fine to one part alloy, and that the same be paid out of any moneys in the treasury not otherwise appropriated.
