Chap. LXXXV.— An Act for the relief of the supervisors of the county of Clinton, in the State of New York. April 26, 1816. *Be it enacted, &c., * Compensation for property destroyed. That the commissioner to be appointed by virtue of the act, entitled “An act to authorize the payment for property FOURTEENTH CONGRESS. Ses s I. Ch . 86, 87, 88, 89. 1816 165 lost, captured, or destroyed by the enemy, while in the military service of the United States, and for other purposes,” passed April ninth, oneAct of April 9, 1816, ch. 40. thousand eight hundred and sixteen, be, and he is hereby authorized and directed, to audit and settle the claim of the supervisors of the county of Clinton, in the State of New York, for the destruction of the court-house of the said county, by order of General Alexander Macomb, by ascertaining, or causing to be ascertained, the value thereof, in the manner and form prescribed by the provisions of the aforesaid act.
Sec. 2. *And be it further enacted, *That the amount thereof, whenAppropriation. so ascertained, shall be paid to the said supervisors for the benefit of the county of Clinton, out of any money in the treasury not otherwise appropriated. Approved, April 26, 1816.
