Chap. LXXX.— An Act *to authorize the Secretary of the Treasury to grant a register to the British boat therein mentioned.* June 15, 1844. *Be it enacted, &c*., That the Secretary of the Treasury be, and he isA register to be issued to the boat A. Bartow. hereby authorized, under such regulations as he shall prescribe, to cause a register to be issued to the boat, or vessel “ A. Bartow,” a British boat lately belonging to the British barque “Glengary,” which was wrecked in the mouth of the Savannah river, in the state of Georgia, in the year one thousand eight hundred and forty-three, her long-boat having been saved in a damaged state, and subsequently purchased and repaired by S.
B. Hill, A. Bartow, and James Kennedy, citizens of the United StatesProviso. to whom she now belongs: *Provided*, It shall be proved, to the satisfaction of the said Secretary of the Treasury, that the cost of the repairs made in the United States, after the purchase of the said vessel, or boat, by the present owners, exceeds three-fourths of the original cost of building a vessel of the same tonnage in the United States.
