Chap. LXXIII.— An Act for the relief of Isaac Briggs. April 18, 1818. *Be it enacted, &c., * That the accounting officers of the treasury departmentAccount as surveyor to be balanced and closed. be, and they are hereby, authorized to close and balance the accounts of Isaac Briggs, as surveyor of the lands of the United States south of the State of Tennessee. Sec. 2. *And be it further enacted, *That when the said accounts shallSuits to be discontinued. have been so closed and balanced, the Secretary of the Treasury is hereby authorized to direct any suit or suits commenced for the recovery of any balance or balances which may appear to be now due, by the said Isaac Briggs, to the United States, to cease and be discontinued.
