Chap. LXXII.— An Act for the relief of Bichard Smith and William Pearse, the second, of Bristol, in Rhode Island. March 2, 1831. *Be it enacted, &c., * That there shall be issued, under the direction of Register for brig Hope to be issued.the Secretary of the Treasury, a register for the brig Hope, built in Holland, but now owned by Richard Smith and William Pearse, the second, citizens of the United States, and now lying at the port of Bristol, in Rhode Island, unseaworthy, whenever the said Smith and Pearse shall furnish the Secretary of the Treasury with satisfactory proof that the said brig has been repaired in the United States, and that the cost of repairing her, by her present owners, exceeds three-fourths of the original cost of building a vessel of the same tonnage in the United States.
