Chap. LXVI.— An Act for the relief of William H. Washington. March 1, 1815. *Be it enacted, &c., * That the proper accounting officers of the warTo be compensated for property destroyed. department be, and they are hereby, authorized and directed to ascertain the value of the house belonging to William H. Washington, situated near the west end of the Potomac bridge, and which was lately destroyed by order of an officer of the United States; which valuation shall be made in such manner, and upon such terms, as may embrace the justice of his case.
Sec. 2. *And be it further enacted, *That the value thereof, when ascertained,Appropriation. shall be paid out of any money in the treasury not otherwise appropriated, upon the said William H. Washington releasing to the United States all claim on account of the destruction of the aforesaid house. Approved, March 1, 1815.
