Chap. LX.— An Act for the relief of Xaverio Naudi. April 20, 1816. *Be it enacted, &c., * Compensation as consular agent at Tripoli. That the secretary for the department of state be, and he hereby is, authorized and directed to audit and settle the claim of Xaverio Naudi, for services and expenses lately incurred, while acting as consular agent for the United States, at Tripoli, and to allow the said Xaverio Naudi therefor, such compensation as may appear equitable and just, under all the circumstances of the case: *Provided,* That such allowance shall not exceed the limitation at present allowed by law to consuls regularly appointed to reside at Tripoli; and the sum so to be allowed, when ascertained, shall be paid to the said Xaverio Naudi, out of any money in the treasury not otherwise appropriated.
