Chap. LV.— An Act for the relief of General Robert Swartwout. March 3, 1821. *Be it enacted, &c., * That the Secretary of the Treasury be, and he is hereby, authorized to pay to General Robert Swartwout, out of anyTo be paid amount of judgment and costs against him for a boat impressed in 1813. money in the treasury, not otherwise appropriated, the amount of a judgment and costs obtained against him in the Supreme Court of the state of New York, for the loss of a boat called the Night Hawk, impressed by him into the service of the United States, in the month of November, in the year one thousand eight hundred and thirteen, by order of the commanding general, and which boat was destroyed by the enemy in the descent of the army by the river St.
Lawrence: *Provided,* TheProviso. said sum shall not exceed two thousand eight hundred dollars. Approved, March 3, 1821.
