Chap. IX.— An Act authorizing a register to be issued for the brig Liberator, of Bath. March 10, 1828. *Be it enacted, &c., * That the Secretary of the Treasury is hereby authorized to order a register to be issued to the brig Liberator, of Bath,A register to be issued to the brig Liberator. formerly a British vessel, called the Liberator, the said vessel having been stranded on the coast of the United States, and purchased by Parker McCobb, a citizen of the United States, and by him repaired: *Provided,*Proviso.
That it shall be proved to the satisfaction of the Secretary of the Treasury, that the repairs made in the United States, after the purchase of the said vessel by the present owner, exceed three-fourths of the original cost of building a vessel of the same tonnage in the United States. Approved, March 10, 1828.
