Chap. III.— An Act *for the relief of Asahel Brainard.* Feb. 4, 1845. *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled*, Arrears of pension to be paid. That the Secretary of War be, and he is hereby, authorized and required to pay, out of any moneys in the treasury not otherwise appropriated, the arrears of a pension to Asahel Brainard, at the same rate per month as now received by him, as a captain of a rifle company in the service of the United States during the late war with Great Britain; said arrears of pension to be computed from the seventeenth day of September, one thousand eight hundred and fourteen, to the twenty-fourth day of February, one thousand eight hundred and forty-three, deducting therefrom any pension which may have been received by the said Brainard between the said dates.
