Chap. II.— An Act directing the discharge of Nathaniel Taft from imprisonment. Jan. 14, 1817. *Be it enacted, &c., * That Nathaniel Taft, who is now confined in jail in the city of New York on a judgment obtained against him in favorTo be discharged from imprisonment. of the United States, be discharged from his imprisonment: *Provided, however,* That any estate, real or personal, which the said Nathaniel Taft may have, or hereafter acquire, shall be liable to be taken to satisfy the judgment aforesaid, in the same manner as if he had not been imprisoned and discharged: *And provided further,* That nothing in this act shall be so construed as to affect the liability of any co-obligor that may have been bound with the said Nathaniel Taft, for the payment of any sum of money to the United States.
