CXXX.— An Act *for the relief of Edwin Bartlett, late consul of the United Slates al Lima, in Peru.* March 3, 1843. *Be it enacted, &c*., That the Secretary of the Treasury be, and he isPayment for diplomatic services. hereby, authorized and required to cause to be paid to Edwin Bartlett, late consul of the United States at Lima, in Peru, out of any money in the treasury not otherwise appropriated, the sum of nine thousand sixty-two dollars and fifty cents, in full of all demands for the services of a diplomatic character rendered by the said Edwin Bartlett, in the interval between the death of Mr.
Thornton, late charge d’affaires to Peru, on the twenty-fifth January, eighteen hundred and thirty-eight, and the recognition of his successor (Mr. Pickett) on the thirtieth January, eighteen hundred and forty. Approved, March 3, 1843.
