Chap. CXI.— An Act for the relief of John Crute. May 7, 1822. *Be it enacted, &c., * That the proper accounting officers of the treasury Claim to be settled.department be, and they are hereby, authorized to audit and settle the claim of John Crute, on account of a certificate issued on the first of July, one thousand seven hundred and eighty-four, and numbered sev- SEVENTEENTH CONGRESS. Ch. 113, 114, 115, 116. 1822. 277 enty-eight thousand four hundred and ninety-one, for two hundred and forty dollars, which certificate is alleged to have been accidentally destroyed, and appears, by the records of the treasury, to be outstanding and unpaid; and to pay to the said John Crute the principal of the said certificate, and so much of the interest thereof as may remain due thereon: *Provided,* That the said John Crute execute and deliver to theProviso.
Comptroller of the Treasury a bond of indemnity, in such sum, and with such security, as the said Comptroller may direct and approve; the said moneys to be paid out of any money in the treasury not otherwise appropriated. Approved, May 7, 1822.
