Chap. CLXXXI.— An Act for the relief of the legal representatives of James P. Hainesworth, deceased.June 30, 1834. *Be it enacted, &c.,* That the heirs and legal representatives of James May locate a tract of land, in lieu of another tract sold by U. S., &c. P. Hainesworth, deceased, be, and they hereby are, authorized to locate, on any of the unappropriated lands of the United States in the state of Alabama subject to entry at public or private sale, one hundred and seventy-two acres, in lieu of the like quantity for which a pre-emption certificate was granted to the said James P.
Hainesworth as the representative of Matthew Shaw, but which was forfeited for non-payment of the whole amount of the purchase money, and sold by the United States: *Provided,* That the location herein authorized Proviso. shall conform to the divisions and subdivisions established by law. Sec. 2. *And be it further enacted,* That, in the payment for the land Credit to be allowed for the sum paid, with interest. authorized to be located as aforesaid, the said heirs and legal representatives shall be allowed a credit for the principal sum paid by the 582TWENTY-THIRD CONGRESS.
Sess. I. Ch. 182, 183, 184, 185. 1834. said James P. Hainesworth, with interest thereon from the time of payment to the time of the location herein authorized; and, on final settlement with the Register and Receiver of the proper land office for said land, they shall be entitled to a patent for the same.
