Chap. CLXVII.— An Act *for the relief of the legal representatives of Richard T. Ranks, of the state of Arkansas.* August 11, 1842. *Be it enacted, &c*., That the proper accounting officers be, and they hereby are, directed to pay to Richard T. Banks, of the state of Arkansas,Payment for losses sustained in consequence of a contract. the sum of three thousand two hundred and six dollars and nine cents, to remunerate him for the actual losses he sustained in consequence of three contracts he made with the Government to supply provisions for the use of Indians expected to emigrate from the eastern to the western side of the river Mississippi, agreeably to treaty stipulations between them and the United States, but who failed to emigrate. 860 TWENTY-SEVENTH CONGRESS.
