Chap. CLXV.— An Act *for the relief of Charles Holt.* June 17, 1844. *Be it enacted, &c*., That the Secretary of the Treasury be, and he hereby is, directed to pay to Charles Holt, of the city of New York,Amount of a fine under the alien and sedition laws, to be refunded. out of any moneys in the treasury not otherwise appropriated, the sum of two hundred dollars, with interest thereon at six per cent., to be computed from the eighteenth day of July, eighteen hundred, it being the amount of a fine imposed upon said Holt by the circuit court of Connecticut, under the “ alien and sedition” law. Approved, June 17, 1844.
