Chap. CCI.— An Act *for the relief of Daniel T. Patterson.*July 7, 1838. *Be it enacted, &c*.,That the Secretary of the. Treasury pay to CaptainPayment for certain expenses. Daniel T. Patterson, of the navy of the United States, out of any money not otherwise appropriated, three thousand three hundred and ninety-one dollars, for extraordinary expenses incurred when he commanded the United States’ squadron in the Mediterranean, in the years eighteen hundred and thirty-two, eighteen hundred and thirty-three, eighteen hundred and thirty-four, and eighteen hundred and thirty-five, in receiving and entertaining on board of his ship the head officers of the governments of the countries where the presence of said squadron was required for the general protection of the commercial interests of his government, and for his extraordinary expenses in visiting the courts of those governments.
