(/us/pl/76/340)] *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,* That the consent ofSusquehanna River.Bridge authorized across, at Harrisburg, Pa. Congress is hereby granted to the Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, Authority, a body corporate and politic heretofore created and existing under and by virtue of an act of the General Assembly of Pennsylvania, known as the Municipality Authorities Act of one thousand nine hundred and thirty-five, as amended, to construct, maintain, and operate a highway bridge and approaches thereto across the Susquehanna River, at a point suitable to the interests of navigation, at or near the city of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, in accordance with the provisions of the Act entitled “An Act to regulate the construction of bridges over navigable waters”, approved March 23, 1906, and[34 Stat. 84](/us/stat/34/84).[33 U. S. C. §§ 491–498](/us/usc/t33/s491–498). subject to the conditions and limitations contained in this Act.
Sec. 2. If tolls are charged for the use of such bridge, the rates ofApplication of tolls, if charged, to operation, sinking fund, etc. toll shall be so adjusted as to provide a fund sufficient to pay the reasonable cost of maintaining, repairing, and operating the bridge 53 Stat. 1264and its approaches under economical management, and to provide a sinking fund sufficient to amortize the cost of the bridge and its approaches, including interest at a rate not to exceed 5 per centum per annum and reasonable financing cost, as soon as possible under reasonable charges, but within a period not to exceed twenty years Maintenance as free bridge after amortizing costs, etc.Record of expenditures and receipts.from the date of approval of this Act.
After a sinking fund sufficient for such amortization shall have been so provided, such bridge shall thereafter be maintained and operated free of tolls. An accurate record of the costs of the bridge and its approaches, the expenditures for maintaining, repairing, and operating the same, and of the daily tolls collected, shall be kept and shall be available for the information of all persons interested. Sec. 3. Amendment. The right to alter, amend, or repeal this Act is hereby expressly reserved.
