(/us/pl/75/532)] *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled*, That in order to Delaware River.Reconstruction, etc., of bridge across.Port Jervis, N. Y., to Borough of Matamoras, Pa., authorized.facilitate interstate commerce, improve the Postal Service, and provide for military and other purposes, the Interstate Bridge Commission of the State of New York and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania be, and is hereby, authorized to reconstruct, maintain, and 52 Stat. 410operate a free highway bridge and approaches thereto across the Delaware River between points in the city of Port Jervis, Orange County, New York, and the Borough of Matamoras, Pike County, Pennsylvania, in accordance with the provisions of the Act entitled “An Act to regulate the construction of bridges over navigable [34 Stat. 84](/us/stat/34/84).[33 U. S. C. § 491](/us/usc/t33/s491).waters”, approved March 23, 1906, and subject to the conditions and limitations contained in this Act.
Sec. 2. Acquisition of approaches, etc. There is hereby conferred upon the Interstate Bridge Commission of the State of New York and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania all such rights and powers to enter upon lands and to acquire, condemn, occupy, possess, and use real estate and other property needed for the location, construction, operation, and maintenance of such bridge and its approaches as are possessed by railroad corporations for railroad purposes or by bridge corporations for bridge purposes in the State in which real estate or other property is situated, upon making just compensation therefor, to be ascertained and paid according to the laws of such State, and the proceedings therefor shall be the same as in the condemnation or expropriation of property for public purposes in such State.
Sec. 3. Amendment, etc. The right to alter, amend, or repeal this Act is hereby expressly reserved. Approved, May 21, 1938. That the last sentence of the first section of the Act entitled “An Act authorizing the Oregon-Washington Bridge Board of Trustees to construct, maintain, and operate a toll bridge across the Columbia River at Astoria, Clatsop County, Oregon”, approved June 13, 1934, as Bond issue authorized.amended, is amended to read as follows: “Said board of trustees is hereby granted the power to issue bonds or other securities payable from and secured by bridge revenues for the purpose of financing Right to assign, etc., rights, powers, and privileges.the construction of the said bridge and the right to assign, transfer, and mortgage all the rights, powers, and privileges conferred by this Act.
