(/us/bill/75/pvtl/705)] *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled*, Marshall Carver.Payment to. That the Secretary of the Treasury be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to pay, out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, to Marshall Carver, of Simpson, Louisiana, the sum of $3,500 in full settlement of all claims against the Government of the United States for injuries suffered by him when a wagon he was driving was struck by a Civilian Conservation Corps truck on Louisiana State Highway Numbered 504, near Simpson, Louisiana, November 6, 1935: *Proviso*.Limitation on attorney’s, etc., fees. *Provided*, That no part of the amount appropriated in this Act in excess of 10 per centum thereof shall be paid or delivered to or received by any agent or agents, attorney or attorneys, on account of services rendered in connection with said claim.
It shall be unlawful for any agent or agents, attorney or attorneys, to exact, collect, withhold, or receive any sum of the amount appropriated in this Act in excess of 10 per centum thereof on account of services rendered in connection with said claim, any contract to the contrary Penalty for violation.notwithstanding. Any person violating the provisions of this Act shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be fined in any sum not exceeding $1,000.

Burt and to his wife, Alice Burt, of Weir, Mississippi, the sum of $240 in full satisfaction of their claim against the United States for the loss of that sum resulting from the error of an agent of the Resettlement Administration, now the Farm Security Administration, in filling in an option contract for the sale of one hundred and twenty acres of land in Choctaw County, Mississippi, to the United States, it being mutually understood and agreed by and between J.
T. Burt and Alice Burt and the agents of the United States that the said land would be sold for the sum of $12.50 per acre, whereas through error the option agreement fixed the sale price52 Stat. 1391 at $10.50 per acre; *Provided*, That no part of the amount appropriated*Proviso*.Limitation on attorney’s, etc., fees. in this Act in excess of 10 per centum thereof shall be paid or delivered to or received by any agent or attorney on account of services rendered in connection with this claim, and the same shall be unlawful, any contract to the contrary notwithstanding.
