(/us/pvtl/75/656)] *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled*, Oscar L. Mather.Settlement of claim authorized. That the Comptroller General of the United States be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to settle and adjust the claim of Oscar L. Mather, Madison Lake, Minnesota, for $241.80, for timber removed from his land, without authority therefor, by employees of the Government stationed at Civilian Conservation Corps Camp S-53, Side Lake, Minnesota, and to allow in full and final settlement of the claim the Appropriation.sum of not to exceed $241.80.
There is hereby appropriated, out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, the sum of $241.80, or so much thereof as may be necessary, for the payment of *Proviso*.Limitation on attorney’s, etc., fees.the claim: *Provided,* That no part of the amount appropriated in this Act in excess of 10 per centum thereof shall be paid or delivered to or received by any agent or attorney on account of services rendered in connection with this claim, and the same shall be unlawful, any Penalty for violation.contract to the contrary notwithstanding.
Any person violating the provisions of this Act shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be fined in any sum not exceeding $1,000. Approved, June 22, 1938.
