S. C. §§ 765, 770](/us/usc/t5/s765/770). That notwithstanding the provisions and limitations of sections 15 and 20, both inclusive, of the Act entitled “An Act to provide compensation for employees of the United States suffering injuries while in the performance of their duties, and for other purposes”, approved September 7, 1916, as amended, the United States Employees’ Compensation Commission be, and the same is hereby, authorized and directed to receive and consider, when filed, the claim of Josephine Russell for disability resulting from complications caused by continual irritation while driving over rough and unsurfaced roads on the Kiowa Reservation in Oklahoma, in 1930 and 1931, when on duty as a field nurse; and for physical overwork affecting her general health while employed as a staff nurse at Pine Ridge, South Dakota, by the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Department of the Interior, and to determine said claim upon its merits under the provisions of said Act: *Provided*, That claim*Provisos.*Time for filing claim.
No prior benefits. hereunder shall be filed within six months after the approval of this Act: *Provided further*, That no benefits shall accrue prior to May 13, 1936. Approved, June 15, 1938. D. Weikert.Payment to. That the Secretary of the Treasury is authorized and directed to pay, out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, to A. D. Weikert, of Somers, Montana, the sum of $75 in full satisfaction of his claim against the United States arising out of the death of his horse on August 27, 1935, from accidental causes, while being used by the Civilian Conservation Corps in connection with emergency conservation work in Glacier National Park, Montana: *Provided*, That no*Proviso.*Limitation on attorney’s, etc., fees. part of the amount appropriated in this Act in excess of 10 per centum thereof shall be paid or delivered to or received by any agent or attorney on account of services rendered in connection with this claim, and the same shall be unlawful, any contract to the contrary notwithstanding.
Any person violating the provisions of this Act shall bePenalty for violation. deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be fined in any sum not exceeding $1,000.
