(/us/pvtl/75/444)] *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,* That the Secretary Harold Jacobson. Payment to. of the Treasury is hereby authorized and directed to pay, out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, to Harold Jacobson, of Brooklyn, New York, the sum of $500 in full settlement of all claims against the United States for personal injuries sustained by him when he was struck by a United States mail truck at the intersection of Surf Avenue and West Fifteenth Street, Brooklyn, New York, on May 12, 1934: *Provided,* That no part of the amount *Proviso.* Limitation on attorney’s, etc., fees. appropriated in this Act in excess of 10 per centum thereof shall be paid or delivered to or received by any agent or attorney on account of services rendered in connection with this claim, and the same shall be unlawful, any contract to the contrary notwithstanding.
Any Penalty for violation.person violating the provisions of this Act shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be fined in any sum not exceeding $1,000. Payment to guardian of. of the Treasury be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to pay, out of any money in the Treasury allocated by the President for the maintenance and operation of the Civilian Conservation Corps, to the legal guardian of James Scherer, a minor, of Fairfield, Ohio, the sum of $500, in full settlement of all claims against the United States for personal injuries received by the said James Scherer on the 6th 52 Stat. 1278day of July 1936, caused by being struck by a truck, then in the service of the Civilian Conservation Corps, near Fairfield, Ohio: *Provided*, *Proviso.* Limitation on attorney’s, etc., fees.
