Chap. XXXIX.— An Act relating to bonds to be given by custom-house officers.June 4, 1844. *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,* That all custom-house Custom-house officers to give requisite bond before entering upon their duties. officers who now are, or hereafter may be, required by law to give bond with surety for the faithful discharge of the duties of their office, shall give such bond, with surety, according to the requirements of law, before they shall be qualified to enter upon the performance of said duties.
