Chap. XXIV.— An Act making appropriations for certain fortifications of the United Stales, for the year One thousand eight hundred and forty-one. March 3, 1841.[Obsolete.] *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled*, Appropriations. That the following sums be, and the same are hereby, appropriated, to be paid out of any unappropriated money in the Treasury, for the preservation, repairs, construction, and incidental and contingent expenses of certain fortifications, in the year eighteen hundred and forty-one, viz.:
For repairs of Fort Independence and sea-wall of Castle island,Fort Independence. thirty-five thousand dollars; For Fort Warren, forty-five thousand dollars;Fort Warren. For Fort Adams, thirty-five thousand dollars;Fort Adams. For fortifications at New London harbor, fifteen thousand dollars;New London harbor. For Fort Schuyler, thirty thousand dollars;Fort Schuyler. For permanent wharves for Fort Columbus, Castle William, andFt. Columbus. South battery, Governor’s island, ten thousand dollars;
For repairs of sea-wall of Castle William, and other parts of Governor’sCastle William and South battery.Castle William. island, ten thousand dollars; For repairs of Fort Gibson, New York harbor, five thousand dollars;Fort Gibson. For repairs of Fort Washington, fifteen thousand dollars;Fort Washington. For Fort Monroe, thirty-five thousand dollars;Fort Monroe. For Fort Calhoun, ten thousand dollars;Fort Calhoun. For repairs of Fort Macon, fifteen thousand dollars;Fort Macon.
For the preservation of the site of Fort Macon, North Carolina, twenty-five thousand dollars; For Fort Sumter, sixty thousand dollars;Fort Sumter. For repairs of Castle Pinckney, two thousand dollars;Castle Pinckney. For Fort Pulaski, fifteen thousand dollars;Fort Pulaski. For Fort Pickens, ten thousand dollars;Fort Pickens. For Fort Barancas, thirty thousand dollars;Fort Barancas. For Fort Livingston, thirty thousand dollars;Ft. Livingston. For the repairs of Fort Mifflin, five thousand dollars;Fort Mifflin.
For contingencies of fortifications, five thousand dollars;Contingencies. For incidental expenses attending repairs of fortifications, ten thousand dollars;Incidental expenses.
