Chap. LXXV.— An Act *to fix the compensation of the Commissioner of Public Buildings.* March 3, 1843. *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled*, That the compensation Compensation fixed.of the Commissioner of Public Buildings shall be two thousand dollars per annum, and no more. Relative to the application of the appropriation tor public buildings and grounds. Sec. 2. *And be it further enacted,* That no portion of the appropriation for public buildings and grounds, or any improvement or alteration of the same, shall be applied to the payment of a clerk or clerks in the office of said commissioner, or of an architect, unless the same be expressly provided for in the act.
Acts inconsistent herewith repealed. Sec. 3. *And be it further enacted,* That all acts or parts of acts in consistent with the provisions of this act be, and the same hereby are, repealed. Approved, March 3, 1843.
