Chap. II.— An Act to refund the fine imposed on General Andrew Jackson.Feb. 16, 1844. *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,* That the sum of one To refund $1000 with interest from 31st March 1815. thousand dollars, paid by General Andrew Jackson, as a fine imposed on him at New Orleans, the thirty-first day of March, Anno Domini one thousand eight hundred and fifteen, be repaid to him, together with the interest, at the rate of six per centum a year since then, out of any moneys in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated. Approved, February 16, 1844.
