Chap. CCLXV.— An Act *making an appropriation for the erection of a marine hospital at or near Ocracoke, in North Carolina.*Aug. 29, 1842. *Be it enacted, by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled*, That the sum of ten 1843, ch. 47. Appropriation for the purchase of a site, &c. 546TWENTY-SEVENTH CONGRESS. Sess. II. Ch. 266, 267. 1842.thousand dollars be, and the same is hereby, appropriated, out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, for the purchase of a site and the erection of a marine hospital at or near Ocracoke, in North Carolina; the site to be selected and the building to be contract ed for and erected under the superintendence and direction of the Secretary of the Treasury; and that he (the Secretary of the Treasury) be directed to report to Congress, at its next session, the progress and Proviso.condition of the work: *Provided,* That the expense of the land and building shall not exceed that sum.
