(/us/pvt/74/225).] *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,* That the Secretary Blanche L. Gray. Payment to. of the Treasury be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to pay to Blanche L. Gray, wife of Paul Judson Gray, late third Secretary, Department of State, the sum of $3,000, being one year’s salary of 2145her deceased husband, who died while in the Foreign Service; and there is hereby authorized to be appropriated, out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, a sufficient sum to carry out the purpose of this Act.

August 19, 1935.[[S. 208](/us/bill/74/s/208).][[Private, No. 226](/us/pvt/74/226).] *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,* That the Comptroller Consolidated Ashcroft Hancock Company, Incorporated. Claim of, to be adjusted. General of the United States be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to settle and adjust the claim of the Consolidated Ashcroft Hancock Company, Incorporated, for an amount not exceeding $1,705.98 as liquidated damages deducted by the Navy Department in making payments under contract numbered 28225, dated August 23, 1932, for certain valves when the contractor was delayed in the completion of delivery for the reason that valves superior to contract requirements were developed and delivered by the contractor.
There is hereby appropriated, out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, a sum not to exceed $1,705.98 for payment of the claim: *Provided,* That no part of the *Proviso.* Limitation on attorney’s, etc., fees. amount appropriated in this Act in excess of 10 per centum thereof shall be paid or delivered to or received by any agent or agents, attorney or attorneys, on account of services rendered in connection with said claim. It shall be unlawful for any agent or agents, attorney or attorneys, to exact, collect, withhold, or receive any sum of the amount appropriated in this Act in excess of 10 per centum thereof on account of services rendered in connection with said claim, any contract to the contrary notwithstanding.
Any person violating Penalty for violation. the provisions of this Act shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be fined in any sum not exceeding $1,000.
